VENTILEN
Ventilen is an umbrella organization that works to make young people in Denmark less lonely by drawing attention to loneliness and having meeting places where young people (15-25 years) who experience loneliness can gather.
The valve is around in 21 different cities in Denmark, with approx. 275 volunteers and is financed by donations from the state as well as private foundations.
The organization is largely run by young volunteers who work to create a safe place, where you can get to know others, practice your social skills and share experiences together.
Ventilen works based on five basic values: trust, presence, responsibility, development and volunteering.
A group project made for Ventilen that’s about to put loneliness into words and draw attention to the problems that exist around the subject and contribute to fighting the taboo by normalizing it.
Ventilen lacks a symbol they can carry which is an abstract representation of the organization.
A symbol/piece of jewelry that puts a discreet focus on the subject of loneliness and embraces Ventilen as an organization. An aesthetically appealing symbol that can be worn on the body and in public space, and can be changed to fit the wearer personal style.
Our final product is a symbol and a jewelry concept inspired from the instrument symbol of a vent/ventil.
